Some of our learners had a fantastic opportunity to meet Karen Darke MBE, she is a British Paralympic cyclist, Para triathlete, adventurer and author. Karen officially opened the Fit20 studio here at Fox Valley and Niri and his team kindly invited us and our young people along.
Karen spent time talking to our learners and let them hold her Gold medal which is not something anyone gets to do daily!
Some of our learners have had and are still working through their own challenges and Karen’s story helped them to look at their own lives and see that they too could achieve great things if they believe in themselves and put in the time and work.
It’s fair to say we went ‘off piste’ and talked about her all day, a remarkable lady!
